Awards Banquet & Christmas Party

Nov 20, 1999, Valencia, CA: The California Independent Funny Car Association held its 15th annual Awards Banquet at the Ranch House Inn. A record 95 racers, guests and sponsors were in attendance.

The evening began with a social hour followed by an all you can eat buffet. Following chow the Top Five Points Finishers were honored along with other special awards.

Ken Josing (below right) defended his Fluffy Bunny title while the Ladies won the Battle of the Sexes. Entertainment and humiliation was provided by an Austin Powers impersonator!

The latter part of evening featured live and silent auctions, and a staggering 50/50 raffle. Tony Rishton was the lucky recipient of the $189 prize. All guests received a door prize.

Special thanks to Pete Mauriello who did an excellent and humorous job as Master of Ceremony. Also to Lori Rishton for her untiring effort making this banquet one of the finest to date.
