Bad Company Outfoxes The Competition
July 22, 2000 (Sacramento Raceway): The points battle has

lead.

Steve Tryon's Bad Company
Corvette is your Fox Hunt winner
Tryon's second victory came at the annual Sacramento FoxHunt presented by Napa
Auto Parts. During first round of eliminations, Tryon faced off with rookie Adam Sorokin.
Sorokin qualified Dave Smith's Firebird #1 with a near perfect 7.502. The rookie fell off
pace as Tryon clicked off a superb 7.51. During the semi-finals, Tryon used a holeshot to
disposed of Jim Maroney on a 7.61 - 7.56 decision.
Making waves on the other side of the ladder was the Estrus Camaro of Ed
Schwarz and Richard Stannard. This duo advanced with a 7.65 in the opening frame when Sean
Dale redlit. During the semi-finals, they dodge a bullet when the converter went away but
earned a spot in the final when Jim Maher broke out with a 7.48.

The Estrus Camaro was the runner up
after a convertor failure sidelined the SoCal team
Stannard/Schwarz couldnt make the final call which brought back the fast
loser (Jim Maroney) to face off with red-hot Tryons 59 Corvette. It was Tryons
day with a victorious 7.75.

Fox Hunt #1 qualifier with a 7.502. Did I
mentioned this was their CIFCA debut?!
The Perma-Cool Burnout Challenge was won by Chuck Vanness while
Jim Maher pocketed the Enderle Quick Reaction Time bucks. The top five have been shuffled
and its still anyones game with 3 races remaining. -Jim Maher
