16 funny cars braved the desert heat for the
second stop on CIFCA 2001 schedule. After 2 full qualifying sessions and 4
rounds of eliminations, Steve Tryon pulled
off a big win in his Bad Company Corvette. Tryon was on his game cutting great
lights and posting consistent elapsed times. In the final round, Tyron paired
off against Ross Stickler. Both cars ran identical break out times (7.380) which
was a first ever for CIFCA. The winner is determined based on who got to the
stripe first. In this case it was Tryon by .007 seconds (.456 - .463 light.)
